That's called a vent window. It is used to get air in and out of the interior. Very good for smokers to get the smoke out of the interior. They twist/rotate to open...

Hi Mr. Obvious... I'm a long time listener but first time caller...lol.

I meant the plaque tho...

very common to see these on old hot rods and drag racers... cool sticker.. who knows though if it was on your car back in the day or added later or the wing window replaced along the way...leave it there i say

Not mine. But it will take someone familiar with the now-defunct CT Dragway to know what it is. I met a new friend yesterday - it's his RR that has it.

That's "Captian Obvious".... :D

Oh, yeah, that sticker is cool. :supz:

I can't give you any info on it, as I haven't lived near that area to know the history of that race track. :sad1:

And now, a word from our sponsors.... :coffee2:

Krazykuda, you make me laugh. I needed that. Seems like there are alot of defunct racetracks if you think about it. Especially in California. Remember the NHRA classics in Pomona.

I think the last time i heard Bob & Tom show was 1996...lol. But I immediately flashed back to that skit.
The history (as provided by the owner) is CT had 1 dragstrip called CT Dragway. It closed at the end of the '85 season. That's common knowledge. But, it openned in '86 as CT International Raceway and was closed within a month or two. It's now owned by Consumer reports, who does all thier testing on cars there. This guy was a track champion in this RR, and has a bunch of pictures, the steel entrance sign, and some other cool stuff from that time. I didn't get into cars until late 86 & 87 so I never knew about the track or the history until years later.

Went to that track plenty of time in my youth!!! LOVED IT! So bummed when I showed up there one day and found it closed.

Saw the Little Red Wagon & Hemi Under Glass run there.....Good times.

We used to go to a track in northwest Indiana called US-30 back in the day. It was an AHRA track and was closed sometime back in the late 70's early 80's. There's a parts store near there that has a car show in honor of the US-30 drag strip each year. (They even get a few Hooter's girls to walk around and pose for pictures with the cars. Woo-Hoo!!)
