Hey gang,
Just wondering if anyone here that works at a car dealership is using ADP for the system hardware. After 10 years of using Reynolds we suddenly changed operating systems to ADP. I am about ready to go ballistic over this. Someone pleeeeeease tell me this is a better and more effecient system once you get the hang of it. So far its nothing but headaches, frustrations and tripple the work to do ANYTHING on it. Whats even more wonderful is that the support group they sent to help us with it have no real clue either.

Is there any bonus to this program at all ?

We had ADP, but switched after 45 days back to reynolds..Good luck..

I've used Reynolds,ADP,&UCS and Reynolds is by far the most user friendly. Your dealership probably got a good deal on the ADP system and thats why they changed over. It is confusing, and nothing on that system outshine's Reynolds, but after a couple of weeks you will get the hang of it. So hang in their.

I used ADP for 15 years.
AFTER YOU GET USED TO TYPING EVERYTHING IN CAPS you'll get used to it.
I never had a problem with the system, once you get used to where everything is. Most all functions are there, and they pretty much do the same, just arraigned differently. I worked for a dealer that had R&R and preferred the ADP over that. It's all in what your used to.
Make sure you get manuals and prepare to be bored reading them.
You will understand ADP long before I understand R&R.
Also DealersEdge.com has a lot of good info on their forums.

You in a parts room? What carline?

By the way,
you know what ADP stands for?

Another
Damn
Problem

Well so far its a complete nightmare.
I am in service write up, booking, warranty and also on parts counter.
One thing I can see as a difference between R&R and ADP is that R&R was the Cadillac while ADP is the Yugo. After knowing what Reynolds can do... and now finding out that it CANT be done on ADP...I do not see any advantage at all.
ADP..... is Another Damn Problem.
I work at a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealer.
The only reason they switched is because ADP is cheaper..... now I know why it is cheaper... half the important crap is missing.

Believe it or not, ADP and Chrysler get along alot better than R&R.
The down side, because the two are so compatible, Chrysler can see everything your doing. Makes it tough to keep secrets.
As for things not being there, everything should be in place. Unless your Dealer didn't buy the whole suite. In that case, you can use the english generator and make your own jobs. That's where the manuals will come in handy. Also use OLI, Online Library as a reference.
I was a parts guy and stayed out of the service end of the system. I do know that service side has a lot of potential to really screw up the parts end.
Give it time, sounds like your going to have to learn to love it or at least live with it.

Where do you guys work? I work for the Cobalt Group, now ADP, we just got bought. We probably handle your inventory.
