I just picked up a rebuilt 318 for the 73 Duster my daughter and I are building and the previous owner said the exhuast manifolds are from a 340. The driver's side is 2.25 ID but the pass. side is only 1.875. Here are the casting numbers as best as I can read them
driver - 3614368-1
pass - 3418623

Can anyone tell me what these are for sure?

Thanks,
Ken

try Mopar Casting Numbers - MyMopar.com - Mopar Part Numbers, they have the casting numbers ..It says it's a 340

According to the info I have those are 71-73 A-body 340 manifolds.

Thanks for the confirmation. Just seemeed strange that the 2 sides would have so different diameters.

Thanks again,
Ken

Seems weird to me also that's why I looked up the casting numbers myself. I used a different site than mymopar.

pass - 3418623 This is definitely a 71 340 Manifold.

driver - 3614368-1 This one is a 72-73 manifold. A 71 Manifold would be a cast # 2863553 IIRC Same as teh 68-70 340 manifolds. According to my books it's a 340, Tony's Parts sells them with the above manifold as 71-73 340 manifolds. I don't have a 72-73 parts book to confirm application.

The pass side, 3418623, has a casting of 4.13.72.

The driver side, 3614368-1, has a casting of 1.7.74.

Are these dates?

Is there a pass side manifold that should have a 2.25 ID? What would be the correct ID's for a 73 Duster 340?

Thanks,
Ken

The 3418623 is also correct of '73 340. Being your 3614368 is a '74 manifold it is actually a 360 manifold but they used the same one on the '72 & '73 340 cars also.

Is there any harm in using these even though the diameter is different? The engine is a basicaly stock 318 with the small Summit cam and Edelbrock Performer (not RPM) intake & 600 carb. It'll be my daughter's daily driver.

Thanks for all the replies.

No, it won't hurt anything but it would be better if you had 2 with the 2.25 ISDA. How much better? Who knows.

What pass side manifold would I need that is 2.25 diameter? I'm not concerned about originality or matching numbers.

Thanks again,
Ken

340 manifolds have a taller exhaust port than a 318. You might have a port mismatch and a leak. Try putting on a 340 exhaust gasket on your 318 heads and pay close attention to the bottom of the port. I had the same problem on my 318 heads, big exhaust leak. I have a set of 318 manifolds for an a-body that are in good shape if you are interested. Bob

They will work fine on your 318. They are a matched set. Mopar just used 2 different sizes that year.
