Hi Folks

Finally got the 340 and the 727 mated for the first time in 30 years. New Hays flexplate and TCI converter. Got everything torqued to OEM spec with blue loctite.....Then found the ARP instructions which said 75lbs not 55.:BangHead:.....Finally got them mated for the second time in 30 years an hour later.:)

I just want to say Bravo to you, OP, for looking up the specs. So many 'mechanics' these days can't/won't do that, and that's the hallmark of a conscientious worker.

Had a similar situation with a three speed manual behind a 361 in a Plymouth lately. Found all the bell housing bolts were loose, and some were only finger tight… Luckily, there’s enough room that with enough finagling I could run a tap down all the holes and clean them out before final torquing everything back down to spec again with new hardware.

You have to 'check' ARP bolts. Had some that were too long; had flywheel bolts where the bolt head was too thick.
