What has people paid to get there bumpers redone? Just the ones that just need chromed not fixed before rechroming

Most shops need to do a little straightening other wise every little ding shows up after its bright and shiney. I had my Duster bumpers done for $250 each. You can buy repops for about the same price and get them faster, but if you have yours rechromed you know they will line up and bolt right back on.

Highline plating in Cuba Mo right around 300.They do a great job.

I got quoted $400 a bumper. The year one bumpers that run $350/each-or-so didn't look like the shiniest pieces, so I will likely bite the bullet with the local place.

..Fairmont electroplating in Saskatoon.
..300 about 3 years ago....very nice
..sent mine on a bus from Ontario $45 one way

I asked not that long ago, and up here on the west side of the great white north, they said $600 plus our modest 12% tax puts it over $700 :cussing:

and my front one has a prang so add another $200 to straigten it so getting near a grand :wack:

guess who isn't getting a bumper rechromed anytime soon

That's just stupid.

Cheapest way i have found is to use a shop with a Keystone account they did my lil red bumpers for $150 shop cost. they are NOT fast about it though

The cheapest way around it is to just have them painted the same colour as the body...this is why mine are painted...chrome was not in the budget.

Around $375 in Atlanta. I got lucky on e-bay and found a good rechromed bumper someone had from a project they abandoned. The price of chrome plating is only going to go up because fewer places are doing it and the government regulations of the hazardous chemicals used.

Yep, how they do the new cars, just hang some plastic and paint it pretty--expect they don't stop at the bumpers but wrap the plastic a few feet in on each end

I checked receipts from the body shop back in 2009 when I did my 69 Roadrunner. After some straightening on both bumpers, the rechrome bill was $737.40

Now get your shine box! By the way,I need my chrome bumpers shined, after you shine my shoes! My favorite line from Tommy, well there's many to choose from but..."What's the matter Henry?" "Here's a leg, an arm, here's a wing"!!!!

My 67' Dart's rear bumper could stand to be re-chromed, it's not horrible but it's not great either. Sounds like $300 is about the going rate.
