b body shifter with pistol grip set up

im thinking of buying a pistol grip set up from a buddy, we are both unsure if these set ups are universal....will this work for a a body?

its a pistol grip that came out of a 73 road runner, bench seat style, i believe, has long handle.

Thats the easiest one to make fit an a body. You just need correct linkage and shifter mounting plate. Might be interested in trading you your b body stuff for a body that will work for your application.

so my linkage from my A Body transmission wont work?
and will the correct mounting plate for the B Body shifter bolt up to my tranny?

You will be able to use your original a body linkage if it has enough adjustment. Yes your mount plate will bolt up but will put the shifter at a way forward facing angle coming through the floor.
