Planning to replace the b/u light sockets on a 72 dart swinger. How do the sockets come out? Looks like the rear bumper must be removed first. Am I correct?

That is a very true statement. I agree 100% especially with a light assembly that you cannot find a good replacement for, and you have a bad stock socket. However the way most of these vehicles are now restored and pampered if your stock sockets are fairly decent and restored, they will probably outlast your lifespan with a small glob of dielectric grease in the cleaned up bulb socket.$26 not to bad for something that will last longer then the stock sockets, wont corrod, plus you can also just replace the wire elements if there is any build up on them.
