did the mechanics use a special tool to install and tighten the switch. It takes a 15/16 deep well socket. Has anyone else had a problem fitting a really thin wall socket to get it tight enough. Does anyone know where to buy a thin wall 15/16” deep well socket?

Try an O2 sensor socket. Most auto parts stores sell them.

I installed a new one from brewers and I have a problem with it leaking. I installed a new gasket when I installed it but it still leaks. Do you have to put pipe dope on it or Teflon tape? Any ideas
