My 64 barracuda, with A-833 has a b&t, I understand there are kits to convert this to a u-joint set up
If some one has done this or has a reliable source for parts Let me know

There are also kits to rebuild and service the ball and trunnion. Just curious, why do you want to convert it? There's nothing wrong with the design. In fact, it's arguably stronger than a slip yoke. EVERY Max Wedge came with one and the 64 Race Hemis did as well.
 
I used the ball and trunion driveline on my small block, four-speed bracket racer and never had a problem, but I doubt they are as strong as the spline type (hate to disagree with RRR). The driveline shops all know how to convert them over, I had both my present '65 ABodies converted over at a shop in Stockton, CA. I like to have a shop do it for me because I am hoping they balance the driveshaft at the same time (which is out of my league).

U-joints fail, I've never heard of or saw a b&t that failed.
Most, the boot cracks, that's all, remove it, clean up the internals, new grease and boot.

I wouldn't even attempt to r&r the pin.

I bought a boot that is for something else entirely, it is an exact match except it is a little long, just trim it and it is identical.

Search on ebag for 19-5002.

I rebuilt all of mine right after I got the car. Pin and all. But I do have a press. I admit, it was a real PRESS fit. lol
 
How do you determine if the current pin is ok to use?

I've already determined I don't have a press, my boot is shot, and there are no other obvious issues even if I drive it now.
I imagine the rollers and caps would fail before the pin, but wadda I know.

Just look at it closely. See if there are any wear ridges. I don't know what the actual diameter is. If you can find that out, you can measure it with dial calipers. You're right though, normally the pin is good......unless it's been run dry for a long time. I've never seen one of those joints break or go bad either, but I've seen plenty of worn out and broken U joints.
 
Be aware of a number of small selective fit shims, under the balls, used to center the trunion.
They are easily overlooked, and lost .
