Today I changed jets in my Holley vac secondary 4V carburetor. I removed the front float bowl and the front metering plate, set it power valve down on my bench and changed the jets down 2 sizes. When I picked up the metering plate I saw a small steel ball about 3/32 in diameter laying there. I absolutely could not see where it came from and all my research did not show there should have been one on the power valve side of the metering plate. I am flummoxed about what to do. Anyone have any insight?

vacuum secondaries has a check ball valve in the vacuum can also

In some Holley carbs there is a valve in the base plate that saves the power valve in case the engine backfires through the carb. I don't know if the ports are big enough for the ball to make it into power valve well though.

It is impossible for that ball to come out unless you remove the base plate. And even then it would nearly impossible for that ball to just fall out.
