i could really use a ballast resistor wiring diagram or a good pic of how its wired up... i put a 318 into a /6 car...the wiring was all cut up and i didnt think i could save it...so i got an ez wiring kit...but the diagram on how to set it up doesnt match the wiring diagram i have for the car...i got it set up now but it wont stay running unless i hold the ing. in the start position...i have moved some wires around but i dont want 2 keep doing that a run the chance of burning up the wiring or a part....ive tested the ballast resistor, replaced the control box with the new silver one....i replaces almost all the ing. parts and im at a dead end...any help would be welcome

Here is a copy of the wiring diagram on MyMopar.com for a 75 Dart. Becareful of the 73 and 74 diagrams as they have an extra wire in the circuit from the ballast resistor to voltage regulator (brown wires) that will result in a constant 12 volts to the coil. I don't know what the colors are on the EZ kit but for your car the blue wire is Ignition 1 (Run) and the brown wire is Ignition 2 (Start). On the referenced diagram these are the two wires routed between the heavy black (going to the alternator) and the coil. Not knowing the EZ kit puts me a disadvantage helping too much.

Does this help?

ya that makes it a lil more clear...that wire on the top part of the ballast resister the one with the jumper wire...i take it thats where it gets the power...but where does it run? does it goto the ign or what?

man ive done all i can think of wired the **** this way and that lol...and still no luck...i just dont understand why it wont stay running...

i got it running today like 5mins after i got to the shop....i just found a hot wire thats only hot when the car is in run and start...spliced into that and ran it to the ballast resistor...she fired up and stayed running till i turned her off....i should have the car on the road by the weekend if all my other lil jobs go as planned:-D
