Where do you run the positive battery cable to keep it away from the headers? I have a 68 Dart with a 340 and Doug's Headers. Thanks.

I added a few pics. My original slant 6 battery cable is pulled tight from battery to starter. I had to move the battery to the edge of the tray to reach the starter on the 340. Do I route the new cable down the fender to the firewall then the starter? Does it go down the inner fender to the shock tower then to the starter?

I bring the cable in from the firewall side. Run it on inner fender, down firewall, then forward to the starter. If it's a mini starter, is the standoff piece removed?

I don't know what you mean by the stand-off piece. This is a pic of my starter.

That whole black "thing" sticking out. On most those starters, it all comes off and leaves two studs similar to the older "big" wound field starters.
