A few weeks ago i bought the wife a new mom car, a 2018 journey with a 3.6 pentastar

This engine uses an element filter instead of a spin on, which is located on the top of the engine

There is no drain back valve, so no oil in the top at start up

I came across a product that converts it back into a spin on set up WITH drain back valve

What are you guys' thoughts on this ?

There is no anti drain back filter in the world that will defy gravity.

I don't care what it is. It's not gonna stop the flow of oil being upside down.
ok, help me understand this...why not ?

i got valves in my tires that hold 75 PSI of air in, why wouldnt a similar valve work to keep 15 psi of oil in?
(figuring atmospheric pressure is 1 bar, is 14.5 psi)

im not trying to be obstinate, im just trying to understand it

The engineers of that engine put a canister filter on it by design. I don't understand how you think you can improve on it for one thing. Secondly, I've never seen a filter with any sort of anti drain back valve that was 100% leak proof, especially when the filter installs upside down. Like on a slant 6.
