So not a-body related but still a project I'm working on. I have a full size Jeep wagoneer. Considering dropping a BB based stroker in. Think mellow low rpm/torque monster stroker.

These jeeps came with a 727 to mate with the AMC 360. So it actually kinda makes sense as a swap candidate.

The question I have is, can a BB 727 trans be mounted up to a NP transfer case?

Crossing my fingers that that's a yes because it would be a great alternative to a LS swap!

Of course. You need the tail adapter and mainshaft out of a 4x4 equipped 727. They also used them in IHC and "I guess" Dodge trucks

If you have a good AMC trans you can re-use most the parts in the BB case "depending" on year and whether one or other had lockup converter (hydraulic)

I would likely just start with a reconditioned BB 727 and bolt to my transfer case parts.

Yes. I had the main shaft swapped in a BB 727 so I could run a married NP205 behind it. Pretty simple swap actually.

You're not hearing me. The splines were changed on the front of the output shaft. It will go together; then shear off the splines.
