BB hydraulic lifters

I'm going through an original 70,000 mile 383 engine that has sat for almost 30 years. The cam and lifters look great, but I noticed that 3 of the lifters had orange paint daubs on them. Since several of the lifters had not bled down I took them all apart for cleaning and re-installation.

Interesting that the 3 with orange paint had different internals than all of the others:

These could be replacements. I replaced some of these on new cars at th dealership.

Warranty work? If so, the cam lobe and lifter wear look perfect.

I believe there were oversize lifters. Measure & compare.

What year engine? The big blocks used two distinctly different lifters from the factory. The oil bands were in different places.
