Beehive vs. Standard spring pressures?

Anyone have any idea if a lighter beehive can do the job of a given standard spring? Any cross reference data out there?

In other words, if the required standard spring needed is 125/350, can a lighter behave suffice?
 
As far as I know beehives serve two purposes only.
1. They can give more clearance for retainer to rocker.
2. They prevent spring vibration harmonics.

As far as I know they are just like any other spring a person would select by open and closed pressures.
 
I found my answer, and the beast is spot on. Just seemed like a BH spring spec for a cam was pretty light to me. Thanks!
 
Lighter retainers too.

And a mildly progressive spring rate; they are going to be softer when you first compress them and the rate will increase the more open the valve. Whether THAT offers any benefits, like less lifter-on-lobe pressure on the steeper part of the cam profile, I have not yet figured or found out.

3. there lighter than standerd springs, help valve train weight on valve side of rocker arm! doesn't build up as much heat ether...
 
Beehives can be lighter pressure because the retainers are lighter. I'd run them!
