I'm hoping we have a bench seat expert that can answer the following question:
I have a 71 Scamp and would like to put the original style (D2X9) split bench seat in it (it currently has some aftermarket buckets in it). I have core seats from a 73 Duster, 74 Duster, and 74 Dart Sport (all 3 are split bench with headrests and no armrest, similar the 71 style that I want). However, these all have the plastic push buttons as opposed to the chrome ones on the 71 seats. Aside from the upholstery style itself, I can't see any differences between the newer seats and the 71, although I don't actually have a 71 to physically compare side-by-side, so here's the question: Can I order 71 upholstery from Legendary and install it on one of the newer 73/74 frames with foam, and then source chrome pushbuttons, or do I need to find an actual 71 core for it to fit correctly? I've heard the headrests swap over, but don't know this for sure, either. Thanks in advance, all help is greatly appreciated!
