Way too much resonance transmitted with a gear drive... IMHO

You want the best...Belt Drive..!!
then pretty much any true roller chain set up "with no seams on the rollers" would come next in my book...

I believe he said Timing "Chain" not belt drive, or gear drive. What kind of appication MOPE? Several brands out there stick with the ones you know cant go wrong.

we use the 440 source double roller timing chains...

they have a bearing on the back side of the cam sprocket and the crank gear is adjustable

I just looked at the 440 source and it says it has a bearing but does not say if the block needs machining. Do you know?

I dont believe timing chains need the blocked machined. I know with some gear drives and belt drives they do.
