sick of cheap **** headers, by the time i get them in they are mangled, dented, and still dont fit on the driver side

so, what are you guys using, cost isnt a problem...i just want an easy to install header that i dont have to add "performance dents" to make them fit

pics, and part numbers would be great.

TTI's.

Yup. For fit, and performance TTIs is da shizzle.

Dougs can be bought through Summit cheaper than buying from Dougs(by $70)guess they buy in bulk and get a better price. My 2 cents.

i was reading some threads on here about the TTi's, and people say the same thing that they need a few tweaks, and a little mond to the pitman arm,

is there a 2 piece header that maks install easy, im running edelbrock performer RMP heads, in a 68 dart with the 73 front end coversion with BBP and a 73+ steering box/pitman arm.

does anyone have a picture of the dougs, installed in an abody?

and how were they to install?...ive NEVER had an abody header fit good, they eoither need some hammer action, or hang too low.

Sorry I don,t have pics of the Dougs,I ended up returning them(1 5/8 tubes)and buying Hedman Husler (1 7/8)for my P&P RPM heads. These are fenderwell hedders,so had to make the cut.Atleast now my heads/engine perform to it,s max.You gonna have to ding, mod. whatever you buy for your A-body.Them,s the breaks!Good luck.

just look up stainless steel headers on google and have someone build them for around 2400.00 close guess

custom headers, all our SS hemi cars have them. fit the first time, and work

My tti dropped right in. Didn't have to tweak anything. Follow the direction and make sure the motor is located correctly as per the directions and you should be fine.

As far as pics of dougs go. They look just like the tti installed only the tubes aren't stepped.

Dougs and tti are the only headers that fit well. i have both brands and I'll buy dougs every time if going new and save anywhere from $140-200.

Check google/yahoo shopping for Dougs D453 or D453-r headers. There are places sell them delivered for about $40-50 less than summit.

I called TTI yesterday to ask more questions about my BB set up. We spoke for a good amount of time. He said the problem with the Pitman arm comes into effect with BB A body cars with lowdeck engines.

you should not have a problem with a SB.

Just FYI. From TTI

My TTIs didn't fit right until I got the engine sitting in there correctly. And I slid the engine/trans back about 1/4" to clear the steering linkage. No denting was needed and they don't hit anything. Outstanding ground clearance and they don't leak either. If I had to do it over again I'd probably get the Dougs and save some money.

shoot, i have a classified up for ttis or dougs headers, not realizing that i can buy a new set for 429.00 nice..... thanks to all

what I have noticed in everyone that showed pictures of their setup is that they are running with a manual steering gear box.... I'm assuming the TTI/Doug headers won't work to great with a power steering box ?

Both Dougs and tti will work with power steering.

I found a place that you can get painted dougs for about $370 and coated right at $500 delivered in the US.

I'm running power steering with the Doug's just fine.

Do the Doug's header outlets line up with the crossmember cut outs?

tti copied the location of the collector from dougs, so yes.

Hooker Super Comps don't match the crosmember. I have a notion to pull them off this winter. I purchased them and then about a week later TTI came out with their big tube header.
