ok, to all of you that are or were into them ..... Of these albums, which do you think was there best ??? .... kill 'em all , ride the lightening, master of puppets or and justice for all ?????

Not a fan. They all suck.

I'm a big fan of the first two.

You can definitely hear a progression in maturity in the writing and the music through all four.

IMO the beginning of the end really started with "sanitarium".

AJFA was still a great album, but I actually don't care for "One" even though I loved explaining to non-fans and new fans about them finally getting mainstream airplay and what the subject matter was.

I was a HUGE fan of the "Garage Days" EP.

The "Black Album" is where I started to get off.

Anything after that just sounds like mainstrem rock, and not the "orcestrated metal assault" that gave them their incredible word of mouth fanbase.

There was that one song within the last couple yesrs, IIRC about domestic violence, that had a long outro. I liked that one but they only played it for a couple months.

I have an original press Seek and Destroy live EP, a Creeping Death EP on red vinyl, a 1/2 speed master of Master of Puppets, and thanks to Garage Days, I have original press Dimond Head and Misfits material as well.

I also find it very ironic that they got all outspoken and letigious on the piracy issue knowing that their entire carreer was basd on word of mouth and sharing of their material between like minded listeners.

Also ironic is that I actually wrote a song, also using portions of the bedtime prayer, well before the release of "Sandman".

It was called "Dark Things".

Now I lay me down to sleep. a horrid creature at my feet...

Dark things- at the foot of the bed
Dark things- living in my head

You get the picture.

Boy was I PISSED when I heard enter sandman!

Sounds like they're was a fly on your wall!!! You should sue Lars for stealing your hard work!!! LOL. :banghead: But any way I like most of they're stuff! Am I Evil is still one of they're best songs!

Have you heard their newest album Super Collider Eddie? Heard that tune "Burn" on my way to work this morning. I though it kicked butt!

OP - My vote is for Kill em All

Pat

yes bought it at walmart love it

Oh, Wait a minute where talking about that heavy band yeah their okay.
yeah. I vote Ride The Lightning

Kill em All.

Voted Kill 'Em All, scrolled, saw your post... When are we going to drink a beer and ride BMX bikes?

PS~

Thanks for leaving it at ...And Justice For All.

Cliff Burton was amazing. This band cut their teeth covering Misfits tunes.

Garage Days (not to be confused with Garage Inc.) predated Kill Em All.

When I was hurt during the gulf war, laying in a hospital not being able to see (shrapnel to the eyes) my buddy gave me his cd player with some Metallica cd's and I listened to them over and over for weeks on end. That was the first introduction to Metallica and I've been a fan ever since. I love Master of Puppets, and to this day, when I hear that song, I stop what I'm doing and go back to 1992 and just reminice of laying in the hospital, blind, and in a foriegn land, not speaking the language and rocking out in my head.

am i evil wasnt done by metallica. it was done by a british band named diamond head who also did bread fan. and i do enjoy metallicas version of damage case.

Kill 'em all! My buddy was such a huge fan of that album, he had a hammer just like on the cover on his desk

Being a bass player named Cliff, I prefer Cliff em All!

When they do covers they do them in the right way, just enough of their spin on it. Am I Evil(Diamond Head and Damage Case(Motorhead) are 2 great examples.
