Hi all.

In the middle of an early A-body disc brake swap to the 1976 duster style single piston calipers.

Was able to push out the piston on the left caliper so I think this one can be rebuilt, but am in need of a right side caliper, as the piston is seized in there and refuses to come out with compressed air or a grease gun. Plus I think the threading for the bolt that attaches the rubber brake hose might be stripped.

Does anyone have any experience with quality rebuilt calipers for a 76 duster? I'm currently looking at the Raybestos FRC4104 right side caliper and a Centric 141.63019 (Centric lists this as the right side caliper for a 76 duster and Amazon shows a 4 piston caliper in the sample pic - confusing!).

I'm hoping to find something that's been rebuilt in the US, although I know this is harder and harder to find these days with everything being outsourced to China. And I'd like to get a caliper with a steel piston. Am I wishing for too much? Anyone know anything about the Raybestos calipers? And is it a better idea to front the cash for a matching pair, or can I safely rebuild one and just buy the a remanufactured right?

I'd like to go through Amazon, if possible, because of the free shipping to Hawaii.

I've gotten them from my local O'Reillys. They're so cheap, you could replace them every brake job if you wanted to.

my local oreillys has some issues finding me the calipers. i don't quite trust those guys to know what they're doing. are most of the calipers these days rebuilt with the phenolics? i've heard awful things about those pistons.
