I know this has been asked before, I had the best thread bookmarked but can't find it.

For those running 440s or other RBs with under chassis headers such as TTI, Schumacher, Dougs etc, how low do you headers and exhaust pipes hang under the car? Pics would be great, exhaust size and type would help as well.

Thanks

I don't have any pictures handy, but I've had both TTI 1 3/4" and 2" primary on my car. The 2" hung a little lower as it had a 3 1/2" collector vs a 3", but both were tucked up nicely. I prefer the 1 3/4" as it makes life a little easier to work on. These were on a race car that had a 18" collector and a 6" muffler attached, didn't have a full exhaust system.

Hey Chris, I have the Schumacher Tri-y’s w/2.5” pipe. Here are a few pics. Hope it helps

I just switched from the 1 3/4” TTI to the 2” step header and it tucks up nicely, but as mentioned above, it leaves you very little room to work. Mine is on a B motor. I am in the process of making up my xpipe this week, I can post a couple of pics if you like. Andrew

I don't have an RB motor either,.... Mine is a 400 "B" engine in a '67 Barracuda. I'm running Schumacher Tri-Y and they are tucked up nicely.

The first 2 give you an idea. They are up there pretty good. They are TTI 440-200 headers. The last shows you how it actually sits.

Thanks all. looks like they ride very close to the bottom of most K frames and and trans pans. I was afraid they'd hand several inches below that line.
