Big Block flexplate installation?

have a silly question...which way does the flexplate install on my big block 727 trans..?..
Does the depression go towards the engine or towards the trans? photos please..thanks.

Towards engine I do believe.

Toward engine. Should have a stamping on it that says “engine side”
