Body mods, post em!

Ok guys and gals, I've been scouring FABO the last few weeks for small custom mods and thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where people could post their ideas and mods in... Any thing like stretched wheel openings, shave drip rails, different marker lights, custom grills, custom fuel doors, sunroofs, custom fuel tanks, anything relocated, etc. basically anything you've done to your car that made it different than stock. I have ideas that I want to do to my 72 Duster but would like to see what some of them look like first and when the time comes that I get them done on my car I'll be posting them!

Lol yea I know what those look like and will either be shaving mine, installing 70-71 markers or installing something completely different.

i actually found a pic and edited the post to include a picture. but yeah i thought about going to the 70 71 style markers as well but just figured its probably more work than just filling the old ones in lol

I figured this would be a good spot for it - but I have the A body adapter to use the flip top gas cap on my dart, and was wondering if anyone's "dented" the body to recess the cap kind of like how it's supposed to be? or welded in the part from the donor car and shortened the filler neck to allow it? It was something I was thinking about before I paint my car, as a mod I'd like to do.

Well, I swapped my Duster to Demon bodywork, but that doesn't look any different than a Demon.

I did swap in '68 side markers and a front spoiler from a '67 Camaro...

Also painted the grille a metallic charcoal color instead of the usual argent

Swapped out the shock mounted bumper for the earlier, smaller, and lighter version. And the Demon tail panel, but again, that just makes it look like a normal Demon.

Converted the '74 dash over to a modified rallye cluster...

Added a fold down seat to a non-fold down seat car (how to here http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=258695)

and replaced my offset shackles with a set of leaf spring sliders.

Plus a whole ton of other stuff, subframe connectors, torque boxes, J-bars, 13" disk brakes, etc, etc. I try to do write ups on how I did most of it.

Soon to come will be a T56 Magnum 6 speed, more fancy suspension parts, the matching rear '68 side markers, and a recessed flip cap from a new Challenger.

Most of it's in my build thread in my sig, or will be soon with any luck. :thumbup:

once I saw how it is coming out, and where the gas cap goes it makes perfect sense

I actually bought 2 charger rear quarter pieces at the Nats last year. The one piece was cut out because the guy couldn't get the screws out to take the flip top off so he just cut the quarter panel around the cap and I bought the fliptop, piece of quarter and filler tube for $15 I think. Then another vender just had the piece of quarter with the indent laying in a pill of metal so I bought that for $5


Holy cow, woods!! Excellent fab work!!! I've actually considered using a mustang tank and putting the filler in the tail panel of my Duster.

67 Valiant front valance can be hard to come by here so I used one from a Duster and used flush mount led signals, also shaved the gas filler.

about the closest ive come to doing this is thinking about swapping out my stocker for a fuel neck from a space duster

Sweet!!! One of the gas door ideas I was thinking about was a new challenger door and filler neck. Can you turn the gas pump on the highest pressure and walk away and it cuts off on its own? And no more fuel sloshing out on hard right turns?
