Brake light switch

This may sound like a dumb question...

My brake light switch is totally shot. Inner part is loose, switch stuck in on position. I am trying to get it out, but the black housing appears to be stuck in the hole it is mounted in. Any suggestions on getting it out?

1/4 " bolt take out the assembly

The adjuster bolt head is visable from the passanger side of the steering column.

As stated above, remove the adjuster bolt and the entire braket will come off.

From there you will figure out what's going wrong.

I suspect it is OEM and has the keeper ring. It acts like a one-way washer.

To remove pull the switch straight out

Some of these the wiring looks different.

Remove entire switch and bracket as one assembly.
