Does anyone have a source for a brake switch with the connector? It's been awhile, but I swear there was a place that had the brake switch with the connector and mount and now I cant find it. Or if anyone has one lying around for cheap I would like that too. I unfortunately did not get the interior harness with my engine and tranny, and it's not that convenient for me to get to the dealer. Thanks

Is this for a 3G Hemi swap? Do you have to have a brake light switch from a newer car for some reason? Just trying to learn, as I'm doing a 5.7 swap into a Duster.

I think we need to know what you are working on..........................I'm pretty sure my 67 just has individual push-on connectors.

If you actually find someone at NAPA who understands, and knows how to find the paper pictoral guide, they have a BUNCH of pigtails, and actually, you can download it

It is for a 3G hemi swap, and my understanding is that I need to have the newer style brake switch. I read that somewhere, but it may be because I am using the 545rfe. I would also in the future like to hook up the cruise control and will probably need this signal. If I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me. The truck starts and drives as it is now, but I havent really driven it far as the driveshaft is just tacked together, so there could be some drivability problems I have not encountered.

Yeah you need the brake light switch, not just for the brake lights, but also as you mentioned cruise control, and the lock/unlock of the converter, turn signals, flashers. What harness are ya using?

I'm doing a 5.7 w/ factory EFI, and a 545RFE. I'd planned on using whatever I need to for a harness inside the car. I'll be using a Hotwire Auto harness for the engine/transmission management, so maybe the brake light switch wire will be in that harness. I need to talk to Chris and see if it is when I call to order the harness.

JD Mopar,

Yes talk to Chris, I am unsure, but I BELIEVE (not proven) that you need the brake switch regardless of whether you're running the 545RFE or not, if using the factory computer. You can see a picture of the brake switch here:

Also there is a video of the brake switch installation here:

I am using a modified stock harness, but I did not get the section that goes from the firewall in, so I have been making it up as I go along. Lucky for me I have not needed much from that harness but it would have made things easier for sure. Thanks for the confirmation on needing to install the late model brake switch. I guess I will just have to make it over to the dealer to get the connector as it looks like the one in the link posted doesn't come with it either.
