bronze gear question

i got a new dist. gear for my 71 318 (rebuilt) and the gear is bronz and im pretty sure theres a type of cam that cant be used with a broze gear. What is that? an how can i tell if my cam is that? thanks alot

Dont quote me on this but I think a billet cam needs a bronze gear. If a stock cam will work wih this I dont know. You could always call the comp cams tech line.

The Bronze gears are for use with roller cams. Becareful because new roller cams may not need the bronze gear and can work with OE gears.
Do not use the bronze gear with cams that do not need it. You'll just make a mess inside the engine.
