Here's the plans for the car 67' FB barracuda 4 speed with 3.91 SG/ street
tires (widest ones in rear that will clear) street/strip use and very occasional
on the strip. Hope you guys could build me a 451 stroker combo on paper
that would be pretty bad a** I want to use a 440 steel crank and maybe stock
440 rods. Help me out with recommendations please:prayer:

If you need to buy the crank as in don't have one. Why not buy an Eagle 3.90 stroke crank that already has the 400 main size and wind up with a 470?

Or a 4.25" crank for a nice 507ci stump-puller. Having driven one (in a 2-ton B-body wagon), all I can say is WHOA. Pulls from 1000RPM in fourth gear. (Yes, that will take some careful part selection to work on the street.)

You won't need 3.91 gears with that (even a 470) in an A-body...heck, you could run 3.23's or even 2.76's and it would still scream!

I don't have a crank yet so the eagle 3.90 stroke sounds interesting and wouldn't
have a problem going to a 3.23 gear just looking for a combo that's proven to
work. Thanks for the ideas so far

Do you have heads? If not...I have heaqrd very good things about the 440 Source heads.

(Or do what my buddy did and grab a pair of used Indys off racingjunk...good deal, even if they were painted pink.)

No heads I was thinking about the stealth heads indeed I have heard some mixed reviews about them but I ain't against trying them I definitely like the
stock appearance

3.90 crank / 470ci is a proven combo. Used to offset grind the 440 crank to this stroke long before stroker kits. If buying a new crank It would be my choice. 451 is great if you have a forged crank already.
