Hey everyone, gonna take on the task of building my own fuel cell for my 66 Valiant and gonna pick your brains or open to helpful tips/opinions.
Gonna go with a typical 18"x20"x10" w/2" sump 15 gallon cell. I've already bought a 4x8 sheet of 1/8" 5052 aluminum and am in the process of drawing it up and having a friend at work in programming figure all the numbers up so I can have another friend on the brake press do the bends for the sides/bottom/sump all in one piece that way the only welding is the front/back/top. Also, I want to utilize the factory fuel filler tube and already have an idea on how to do it.
Anyone know where I can get some weld in bungs for the fuel lines, vents, etc? I'm not familiar with AN fitting numbers and how all that works and what's needed to work with what. Also, does anyone know where I could get a semi-inexpensive sending unit that'll work with my factory fuel gauge? I thought about using the factory sending unit and modifying it.
Anyways, always appreciate your opinions and advice!
Thanks!!
