Blown tire on a rental car- I had a plane to catch!

My old Cadillac master mechanic friend told me a lady brought her cherry 76 D'ville in and said after they fixed the brakes, the tire valves were not in 'sync' anymore, so he jacked up the front and rolled the tire so the valve stem was straight up like the rear tire was, no charge.... She left happy. Slant six rumor was a lady brought one in and said it was running funny. They found 2 gallons of water in the crankcase. She was filling the 'radiator' through the valve cover...
