So I recently took in some customer work and its all newer cars like 93 to 2010 era.

As I diagnose things like sensors and fuel problems, I find myself at the counter of orieleys and advance auto a lot. I find a lot of BWD parts there and most of these items are competitively priced.

I have had really good luck with BWD and others like echlin and Masterpro. Just the other day I replaced a MAP sensor with a Spectra brand one and it works beautiful.

Does anyone know where BWD parts come from and any background of the company??

The problem is, even though it's in a BWD box, there's no guarantee it's a BWD product. Parts get reboxed and relabeled all the time. Just this past December, OReilly switched from BWD parts to Standard Ignition. Do you think they sent us Standard Ignition parts to swap out with the BWD parts on the shelf? How bout a big fat hell no. We got like 500 Standard Ignition boxes with instructions for a rebox. So those first few hundred Standard Ignition parts were the old BWD line. Also, if you ever see a stuck on label, instead of a part number printed on the box, it's a relabeled part in another line put in a Standard (or whatever) box. It's all pretty misleading.

Keep track of a couple of those re-labeled BWD parts and see what the same new SMP parts look like.... I bet they will be identical except for the label.

Reboxing has been around since before the internet.
Many parts are made by the same manufacturer with different brands.
Also some use china,or should we say most?
And standard has first and second line for ignition products.
