it just dawned on me, why not try this? a cable from the pedal to the fork, something that attaches to the back of the fork and the front side of the pedal. does anyone have any thoughts? i think this would solve the expensive/cumbersome hyrdraulic setup and zbar/header interference problem. fox body mustangs used this without any problems, why cant we? i plan on doing this but i would like some input first.

Frank, Why not? Some motorcycles use cable clutches and the old ford festiva I used to drive had a cable... That thing would have to be thick and really free moving so as not to leave the clutch partially engaged/disengaged. I don't see why it wouldn't work well if done right. AND yet another option for folks

Don't now about decreased cost:

My hydraulic setup was about 75$

This may be out there but some new cars use thick cables for shifter linkage....hmmm...nevermind that IS just nonsense :)
