Stroke, You are the smartest guy I know when it comes to the TQ carb.
My question is , Spray carb cleaner ok to use on a TQ? Just picked up a 6319 and want to clean it up.rayer:

I'm doing one for JMacMopars now. It was GNARLY. I actually broke my cardinal rule and LIGHTLY bead blasted the top and base plate. Then resoaked it in my carb cleaner bucket and thoroughly rinsed it. It came out nice. I will be assembling it for the last half of the TQ How To thread soon. Normally, spray cleaner is ok, but not as good as soaking.

Oh and I clean the bowls with Dawn dish washing detergent hot water and a toothbrush.

I like the Barryman's Carb spray available at Auto Zone. It really takes the black soot off quickly, but has STRONG SMELL. I'm not sure if it is ok to use on plastic base though...
