Bobby I had talked with you a while back and we came up with me useing the xtrem cam from comp I think it was 282grind 520/540 its cut on a 110 I think I'm right now I have been looking at some of the mm cams and was thinking how would this work for me short run down on the build

j heads mild port work 240 at 500 I think it was
30' 340
dome top pistons (about 11.5.1 comp) on h beam rods
stock crank turn
x cel intake ( may change soon)
950hp carb
I have 15/8 or 1/3/4 headers
727 rev val body
91/2 (lupo) verta 4500 / talk to lupo and plan to go to a 8'' 904 soon as well
834/ rearend with 4.57
27.5/10 qtp going to 29 next time
ss springs and mp drag shocks in back /3way adj in the front
mp dist locked out and 6almsd
8gal fuel cell and 1/2 line to the front
I'm still thinking about the xtrem one just saw the mm in mopar mag around the same lift but cut on a 106or 108 ..any ideas and thanks for all the help Bobby.....plan to give you a call in the next few days ....:read2:

Check out my 341 post, pretty close to the same combo but I'm running the .520/540 Hyd Roller on 112 and a 3200 stall and an 830, of course mine will probalby be a little more Wheelie prone

Seen the same basic 340 build but with Ede's and a victor 340. Made right at 460hp IIRC.

I remember mad scientist 340 in mopar muscle where they had 10.5 ported 051 smog heads flowing 250's ,headers ,.548 lift fast rate solid, 800 carb, rpm intake, 1.6 rockers etc and made 471hp and the old magazine dyno.

Anything done at westech is about 8% too high.

Seen engine go from westech to another shop and make 30-50 less hp. Car MPH'd at the track almost spot on to the conservative dyno numbers.

Earthmover,
The cam is the XS282S, this cam should work well with your engine combo. Is should be a 106/114 centerlines being it has a 110 LSA. Most all of there cams that are in the book have a 4* advance ground in to them. This cam should give good cylinder pressures and great TQ and upper rpm HP. This would be a moderately large cam for a 340 and 11.5 compression. It will like the 1 3/4" hedders. The QTP may not hold the power though, you may end up going to slicks.

This should be a fun combo and last you for a good while.
