I just received my new cam today it's the mopar purple .509 lift. 248 duration @ .50 Going into my 440 bored .30 over with KB 10.1 pistons stock 906 heads with stock valve springs and rockers. I am using it 75% race 25% street. It has a 2800 Stall, 3.55 rearend gears. The cam I currently have is 4.31 lift I kill everyone off the line with tons of low end torque but can't get to go beyond 5200 rpms. my 60' times are 1.7 but the best I have done in the 1/4 is 13.5 @99mpn It did a lot of reasearch on cam specs and came up with Mopar .509 I am having second thoughts and thinking I should have gone with the .484 lift. In the future I will be going with eddys heads when the budget permits. Give me your thoughts on this combination, before I put the cam in.

Often the smaller cam is better.

A buddy of mine just pulled that .509 cam out of his 440.

He put a smaller cam in, now he can SMOKE the tires.

LOL He has to go buy some Drag radials.

he has 3;73 gears

Hope you bought new springs for that cam. That should really perk up that 440. In a 10 to 1 440 that cam really isnt really all that big. You could always advance it 4 degrees to give you more bottom end. Do not forget to check the piston to valve clearance
