i picked up a clifford cam today , has .447 lift and 268 duration. can anyone tell me if this cam can be installed using a stock head? meaning no spring seat machining or spring binding. got springs, and valves to match the cam. the guy was trying to copy the old hyper pac set up. hopeing to wake up my little hot rod. any insite into this would be welcomed// thanks AL

I am going through this right now. I assume you are building a 225?
I built a 60 over 225 with a .090 decked block and a .090 shaved head. Running a Racer Brown 286 .520 with room to spare on stock flat tops. But it has different valves and springs. Stock 1960 cam is 232 @ .400, 71 up cam is 244 @ .410. You should be ok on valves after you change the springs. Doesn't hurt to check your combination before you start it up. 170 has a little less room to work with!

You need to post up some pics of your toy !!!:D:D Let everyone see what your playing with !!!
