Looking to swap the cam out in my 360 with something compairable. I am running the 292/508 mopar purple shaft with matching springs. Everyone says the technology is old on that cam. I am just wnating to change the cam and lifters but leave the springs the same. What are some suggestions on other cams. I have heard the lunati voodoo cams are real nice. Also which intake would be the best with a cam this size, I am running a Weiand Stealth right now. Thanks Rick

What are you looking to gain from the swap ?

Whats the rest of your combo like ? Gears ? Tranny? compression ?

The 360 has 10-1 flattop pistons. 587 heads ported with 2.02 valves. 4-speed. 8 3/4 with 4.30 gear. The car will see alot of strip use, but I also drive it to local car shows and cruise nights.

What intake and carb ? I would be looking for something in the [email protected]" range which would be like the Comp Cams XE274 or XE284 .

Either cam will require a spring change. Actually I would recommend new springs with any new cam.

I am running a weiand stealth but am changing that. Running a 750 holley 4150.

The Lunati Voodoo cams are great,i ran the .494/.513 in my stroker 2 seasons ago,was very happy with the performance,i'm running the .533/.552 cam now..your right the Mopar cams are old design...

The purple shafts may be old, but they will work well if the head porting is set up closer for a single pattern cam or useage of one. A dual pattern cam is helping the exhaust. If the head had a better than 75% exhaust to intake ratio, a single pattern cam may very well do better. As the percentage of intake to exhaust flow narrows, a single pattern cam does better because to much exhaust is like to much of most anything else....not good.

Allllways change springs to match cam..it's cheap potatos.

The Purple cam is rated @ 248 @ .050. Look for a cam within 4*'s of that for approx. the same or similar performance. However, I would look into more lift. As much as the head can support. Have the heads flowed to know where it stalls and get a cam that lifts to just at that point or slightly less.

This will provided max. performance from the head and cam.

How old is the Stealth? Or what exact version is it? It really is not a bad intake at all. A 750 cfm is about right for the most part for the cube size. (360) More cfm shouldn't hurt it though. Considering it is a track car.
