can i combine hood pins and stock hood latch?

Id like to pick up a set of chrome hood pins for scamp (non lanyard style) and was wondering if I will still be able to use the factory latch to open and close the hood...I shouldnt have any problems using both should i?

Not a problem. You can use both.

youll have to pull the pins first so the spring can lift the hood when you pull the latch.

yes i realize that...I was more concerned with closing it actually... but that should be fine too-slam the hood shut, then put the pins into the posts

I'd go easy on the "slam the hood shut" if I were you. Gently......gently.....

Thats how they were from the factory. You will now have three different latches on your hood. That thing ant coming off. LOL I got sick of taking the hood pins out, then hiting the first latch then trigering the third safty latch. So I took off the two factory latches. I don't remember but I think I took a good 2-3 pounds off the front end like that.
