This winter I am going to be doing a mini-tub on my 72 Demon. I will be moving the springs inboard as well. I currently have American Racing Outlaw 1 wheels. They are 15x8 with 4 inch backspacing. I will be going to a 10 inch wheel with the proper back spacing to keep the outside of the tire exactly where the outside is now. I run 275-60-15 M/T Sportsman ST's. My question is, will the following tires fit in the new wheel well?
Nitto NT 555 R Tires N180-810

Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro Tires 90000000210

Coyote, if it fits : The Nitro 555 's bite hard ,no tubes. Sportsman Pro's are nice ,but outdated.
Only personal information, I can give you ,guy.
Are you willing ,to the necessary?.
Edit: Drag radials bite harder ,than Sportsman Pros ,by a long shot ... Bigger ,isn't necessary better...

I'm putting those nitto 325/50/15's on my 65 10x15 with 3.5 back space but I will be moving the springs, mini tub and narrow the axle but they will fit in the fender after that. might have to trim the fender lip

Sounds good ,might be touchy on that rim lip. If it works :..Measure twice ,cut once ... then the real work, might begin . BE PATIENT, MY MAN....

I am taking my time and drawing it up on paper, hopefully it all works out. It will probably take the rest of the year to finish. I will be doing a 4link also so I will be wearing out the measurement part of the project

That's kind of helpful to know.. What 4 link ? " To get you handled on I.C , on drive line angles, the suppressive hit ,on the tires.. ( It sounds wacky ,but once you learn...it makes sense.. )...

I went to the fab school in rancho Cucamonga last year where I learned how to design a 4link. I am guesstimating the center of gravitiy because I don't have the 4 scales to do it with then measure and formulate on chip board. looking for around 50% anti squat with added holes on the front tabs if I want to change that, it will be just a strip street toy nothing crazy

a 325 50 15 will easily fit in a mini tubed wheel well with the right back space the leaf springs will need to be moved in more than a 1'' offset . just a guess but I would say 2 to 2 1/2 ''

So if I go with the Nitto's, I am going to need new back wheels. My current American Racing Outlaw 1's are 8 inch's wide with a 4 inch back spacing and they give me decent clearance on the quarter panel lip. My plan is to go to a 10 inch wheel and keep the out side of the wheel in the same spot as my current wheel. That being the case, I think I would have to go with a 6 inch back spacing. Does that sound correct?

Jack

I think your getting close I think mine are a 5 inch so a 6 might put you inside the quarter lip like you want .

Try (74 Hemi Dart Sport )

Here is what I found on your posts in that thread.

"Steel with hinges , Weld rear rim sku # 96-512210 15x12 x4.5 lug pattern with 5.50 back spacing , sku # on fronts 96-56208 15x6 x4.5 lug pattern with 4.50 back spacing, may go thinner on fronts, but don't want to get to skinny with that Hemi hanging out there."

Did you do a spring relocation and a mini tub?

I already have the spring relocation kit and the mini tub doesn't look to hard to do.

There are pictures of my car showing length between wheel wells in trunk, 37.25 inches, 2.50 inches off each end of axles .

I don't know how much metal was removed but here is inside well to well = 37.25 " , if you can measure yours like this it will give you some idea of how much was added to mine. Mike
