I have a 69 Dart that space constraints are going to force me to keep outside. As it has a pretty nice paint job on it I would like to protect it pretty well. What do you guys recommend? I have used the throw-away-after-2-years $30 car covers, but they are poor at keeping dirt off. We don't get much rain, but lots of wind and blowing dust.

So right now I am leaning towards one of these covers- they seem reasonably soft, hopefully providing some protection to the paint, and then covering that with I waterproof tarp. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

What about a cover like a ez-up tent, ~100.00 at Harbor freight.

Wind might be an issue. You would have to make some sides for it.

What I don't like about car covers is they will hold moisture in under them unless they really vent well.

You could fashion some pvc pipe into a 1/2 tube and cover that with tarps.

Just a heads-up. Using a car cover outside is a bad idea. With any kind of breeze the cover will move and wear on the paint. Ask me how I know.

California Car Covers and Carcoon. Both are very pricey. A buddy has a Carcoon and swears by it. He lives in an area that has 3 seasons which can be just less than extreme at times. But his car comes out looking like it did when it went in.

Like the other respondent, if you don't get much rain, leave the car uncovered. The wind will blow it all over and wear on the paint.
Cover dash, package tray and seats with towels to prevent sun damage. Put a shield in the windshield.
