car stuck in first

i have a 1976 dodge dart with a 383-2 with a 727 trans...the car doesnt have reverse or get out of first gear... help

its new trans with about 100 miles on it.. the person i got it from said the car shifter was in drive but was in a lower gear...wasnt adjusted write....and it heated up and droped some fluid ..is the whole trans shot

So you drove it 100 miles in low gear....OUCH!
