I recently rebuilt my 1 bbl carb on my six....but it still stumbles...I wonder if I have the idle and floats adjustments off....Does anyone have any advice or no know the right way to set up the carb ? I have always heard that these things can be little tricky....

before blaming the carb, make sure your ignition system is working correctly and check your timing.if you have already done this next look at the accelerator pump drive linkage, there should be some adjustment.try moving the linkage rod to a different position.also a low float level can cause a hesitation.

A leaking vacuum advance can cause this. Make sure your advance (and EGR if so equipped) are working correctly and replace any old hoses.

I agree with the above posts. In addition remember that our cars are old and the "new" gas has Ethonol in it. You may be getting a lot of crap up from your tank. I just had this happen on my 66 Dart wagon. I plan on replacing the tank and lines so it doesnt happen again. Also pay attention to the rubber hoses from the tank to the fuel line and the 2 pieces from the fuel pump and carb. If its not EFI fuel rated line the gas IS AND WILL eat it.
JFYI
