I have a Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb. I was wondering if it will be ok for my motor. The motor is a 67 383 out of my 67 D200 camper special with auto tranny. I honed the cylinders, reringed the pistons, put new bearings in, and put a cast iron 4bbl intake on it, the heads are 516 castings, the cam is new but factory grind specs, it still has the points distributor. All I am going to do is cruise around with it. According to the cfm calculators I searched I would be fine with around 500cfm but that seems small. Would the 600cfm be ok for cruising with this motor? Thanks for the input.

It will work fine if it fits the bolt pattern of the intake manifold.

That's like ballsacks perfect.

I don't know what the hell tha means..... But that was funny!

A 600 is fine. The 500 would be small IMO even if it was just for getting the mail at the driveways end.

When I had my '70 Road Runner I had a similar 383 and used that carb. It ran fantastic with it. Plus, it used to get 13-14 mpg all the time.
