any one ever been to or going to this event august 10 11 12 big event all types of cars/trucks/bikes... things going on at the event music,,,,flame throwers,,,etc

any one been or going ??

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that the show used to operated by a non profit (hospital I think) That was purchased or changed to a for profit business. So their was no purpose or interest in them continuing to manage the event. Heard it is a larger Facility then Carlisle with air-conditioned buildings. On site parking etc.

It is the same weekend as the Nats and the new Mopar week in Myrtle Beach

Like I said above this is here-say I'm not positive if it is true.

This is the first year carlisle is running the show. I know for the last two years at least (I'm sure longer) that Bloom U and the local hospital were running things as a fundraiser. It's always been a pretty mello event. Show n shine mainly. They do smaller events like a teeter totter which can be pretty neat and they do the flame throwers either Friday or Saturday night and I think they did a burnout contest too. But this year with Carlisle heading things up they are trying to get more vendors and a larger swap meet area (which there was practicall none in years past). I have high hopes that with the incorporation of Carlisle events that things will be a little more upbeat than in previous years. I had started a thread a while ago trying to get a head count for the event.

Theres definately on site parking as the parking field is probably just as big as the fairgrounds itself, there are a few air conditioned buildings but usually just for vendors (at least thats how it is for the 4 wheel jamboree in July).

Hey thanks Roughidle, I was hoping someone from down there would chime in.

They were promoting the event at Carlisle this year.

Maybe I"ll go next year instead of the Nats.

Im going sat flame throwers, burn outs, and a good band from 3=6 sounds like a fun day. If not there is always Mustang Sallys up the road.

I'm going Sat with a fist full of $$, hoping to find a nice ragtop........of course, I'm sure since i'm looking there will be nothing there!
