CHANGING PLUGS IN A HEMI RAM

None of you need to curse for at least a month! I did all of it for you today .
This is the fourth time I have replaced the plugs in this ***** and it doesnt get any easier.
What sucks is that I have seen no improvement in MPG or peeformance ! How is that ?
The old plugs have about .090 gap...lol

They're Champions=garbage plugs...wouldn't run those in my lawn mower..
 
Yep the engineer caught his wife with a mechanic and he is going to get back at all of us!
 
I play hockey 3x a week and got more bruises changing those plugs than I do in a season of hookey you know...
 
If i recall, forgive me if im wrong, but pulling fender liner is easy,makes getting at some of those plugs easier. Dunno, but i did exhaust manifolds on a jeep 5.7 and that was horrendous.

Correct x10. Literally saves an hour. Pull driver tire. Pull driver liner. You can then see 5 and 7 plain as day.
 
Not sure if I can pull the liner... kinda ran that thru my mind real quick but didnt look closely

The NGKs were on sale the Rockauto...pretty cheap

You can. Comes right out with like 3 little 8 mm bolts. Try it next time.
 
your expecting better performance from a new plug in a dual plug EFI motor? EFI plugs are 100K now as well as o2 sensors and cats. My SC400 has a cover over the plugs that is tucked under about 6 other things.....stupid!
 
As much as i hate to say it chevy has ford and dodge beat. Do an exhaust or intake manifold and you would agree.
 
Mopar recommends new plugs every 36k and as you can see by my old plugs they are toast ! Easy .070 gap
 
The plugs in our work trucks don't get changed unless it has a miss. A fleet of 25 or so Ford's. All of the 4.6 and 5.4 plug issues with threads pulling out and plugs breaking off ruled out plugs as normal maintenance for the mechanic. My old truck got plugs at 170k miles due to a slight miss at idle. My plug gap tool stops at .100 and the gap was bigger then that! Truck now has 238k and is soon for sale but still runs great. Mechanics old truck was a 6.2 F-350 and had 201k miles on the original plugs. Ran great when sold. I change plugs in my personal vehicles regularly but it's not necessary with modern ignition and EFI.
