Charging Problem??????

Here's what I'm seeing.
During the day things look normal, turn signals operate normal.

Pull headlight switch to parking lights. Left turn signal light on all the time. If I turn on the right turn signal, it blinks normally. If I turn on the left the left light is just solid.

Pull the headlight switch all the way out. The headlights are real dim, left turn signal still acting the same. Charging looks OK at idle, but almost pegs to the right at higher rpms

Any ideas where to start??

well what i notice is that if a bulb goes out, the other bulbs on that side will stay solid. so first i would go thru and check all the bulbs. then test voltage at the head lights, they could just be going out...

test voltage at the battery at idle and again with the lights on, should be above 12.6 volts all the time, as far as the left light being solid I would say you have a light out on the left. the dim headlights could be a bad switch, bad headlights (I was told sealed beam start to loose brightness after 2 years!?) or bad charging system/battery

Now when you say the left turn signal light is on all the time do you mean the front left? If so and with the dim headlights I think you have a ground issue going on, I believe on the radiator support there is like 3 or 4 wires on one bolt screwed into to support, headlights and turn/park lights. You migh check there for a good ground and like mentioned, check battery voltahe @ idle and about 1,500 rpm. You could have two issues going on.

Sounds like two problems to me, a bad bulb and/or ground in the blinker, and a bad voltage regulator.
