Hey guys,
I'm installing bolt on Mancini Chassis ties on my 69 Dart Convertible. I had already finished the bottom color when I realized that I may need them, thats why I went bolt on and not weld in. Any way, my question is how close to the floor pan should they be? Mine are going up high enough to actually touch the floor pan, if I need them to. Since it's a street car, I'm a little concerned about rattle, but I want them tucked up under the car. I guess I could put insulator between the bars and the floor pan if they should be that high. What are your thoughts? Any pics out there?
Thanks,

Isolator would need to be fastened in some manner.
I think you're gonna be better off to just leave a small gap between floor pan and bar.

Might as will bolt them tight up against the floor and weld them in. Run a bead along where they contact the floor. Either that or sell them and get some US Cartool subframe connectors.

You can cut them out, grind down where they were welded, do a little bodywork and they guys that move the cars around the museum at night 100 years from now will never know they where there.

My frame ties are 2"x3" rectangular tube 1/8" wall mounted on the flat. Scribed to the floorpan and butterfly cut in the front against the t-bar crossmember. Although they are tig welded they can be bolted if necessary. Total cost $20.oo for tubing, $5.oo welding wire. Works like mad.
