I made a thread not too far back about heads for my 318. I keep gaining more interest even though I stated a head swap wouldn't be performed for several months.

Seems like most here agree that the 302 casting from the late 80's early 90's 318 are the best way to go for a mild street 318. I found these on ebay. What does everyone think??

Would anyone know what kind of horsepower gain these heads would give me over the 1974 318 heads? Just an approximate number would be helpful.

Thanks

Go to ebay and type in "chrysler 318 heads" in the search box.

Scroll down towards the bottom of the page. The seller is "alliedmotorparts" Has a buy-it-now of $270.00 with $70 shipping and this is for the pair. What does everyone think?

I bought a pair of #302 heads off eBay from Clearwater Cylinder Head. $155 per head + $25 shipping for each. Total came to $360 and they were assembled with a 3-angle valve job. They looked pretty nice when I took them apart to put in COMP valvesprings and Lunati retainers. Haven't used them yet though so only time will tell.

According to a couple of sources, the 302 heads actually have a rated combustion chamber size that is 2.5cc larger than the 675 heads you have to start with. Also, the intake port on the 302 is more constricted than your existing castings.

Food for thought.
