Chrysker sale?

-
The last thing I read was last week. A Canadian company was in serious talks with DC. The name of the company is Magna corp. They are a supplier for alot of car companies, including Chrysler.

I even read this morning that new account models have said that they are making a profit again. it was suppose to be sold 2-3 weeks ago, but Dodge is making money. Kevork was a player too.

all is very quite lateley though... :rr:

If they do sell i'm all for a Canada company owning it....at least it would be on the same continent.

Just read this online at the Sun, in Canada.
Canadian auto parts supplier Magna International Inc. has emergeed the front runner in the bidding to grab a significant stake in the Chrysler group, according to industry analysts.
We are now convinced that Magna will take a direct majority ownership stake in Chrysler, keyblank Capital markets analysts Brett Holsten, This is up from a minority ownership last month.
Magna also appears to be the favorite of Chrysler's powerful unions.

This Came from Detroit AP.

It was on the news a while back that Mercedees is selling Chrysler but will keep Jeep, has anybody else heard this?

I think that Chrysler group would include Jeep, Dodge and the Chrysler division. They share so much in common I don't think they could beak off a division like that. Arn't some products even built at the same plant.

i had also heard that daimler was going to keep there hands in the pie. as the chrysler group gives them the ability to share tech. and mass produce parts so that there line of vehicals can be made cheeper.

that kind of sounds peracitic (spl?) if you ask me. smart for there cars but blood suching for chrysler.

Magna is essentially an Austrian company. Chrysler is their largest customer and Magna even assembles some vehicles for them in Austria.

Kerkorian has said to have put in a bid as well that is less than Magna's offer.

Internal news from Dr. Z says this is all not true. Insiders do say that by the end of next year though you will see the Chrysler and Daimler names separated. Chrysler will become Chrysler again and Daimler will become,,,well, who cares what they become. The company will however remain intact.

Keep in mind that this is from those lying Germans though.
