I pulled these plates off the inside of my 66 Dart GT doors to freshen the paint on the inside of the doors. These need a clean-up, wondering if anyone has any suggestions? The car is red, seats are white, top is white, door skins are white, top of inner door and bottom of dash is black, rest of dash is the stock grey colour.

Wondering if anyone has painted the chrome parts, or done anything unusual with these. Thanks for the suggestions!

Stock they are chromed pot metal with black paint (semigloss or satin I think). Finding ones that aren't pitted is sometimes difficult. You could probably sand them and have them rechromed....then painted. I restored mine (chrome was still good) by painting the whole thing, and then rubbed them over a thin, fine napped cloth soaked in paint thinner and stretched over a flat piece of wood. That took the paint off the high spots perfectly to let the chrome shine through.

That is a tough restore lots of very fine lines!

Are the lines all supposed to be bare on the top edge? If so I would strip it entirely and respray in light coats, then slowly sand back the flat surfaces with a lat backing material, Blow off the piece between
sandings then Clear it over all.
